Acupuncture and TCM have undergone extensive medical research over the last fifty years and has become one of the most accepted complementary medical systems in the world. Acupuncture can be used alone or to complement conventional medicine with great success, acupuncture can also help to reduce the side effects of many medications.
Acupuncture is part of the natural medical system Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); TCM includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, acupressure reflexology Tai Chi and qigong, TCM has a recorded history dating back over 3000 years, during this time it has continued to develop into a well renowned and extremely effective form of medicine that is today practised throughout the world and is recognised by the World Health Organisation.

Hi, my name is Neil Banning I am the director and acupuncturist of Auckland Acupuncture centre and a current member of the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturists (NZRA) as well as a Registered ACC treatment provider this ensures you that I adhere to the strictest clinical procedures and maintain exceptional standards of clinical hygiene and take part in ongoing education which enables me to continually improve my services to you.
I have a Diploma of Accupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Diploma of Tuina (Acupressure/Chinese joint adjustment) and a Diploma of Qigong (Breathing exercises to increase energy and health), I obtained these from The New Zealand school of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I also have a part time position tutoring second year students at The New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I also teach Tai chi Qi Gong classs in the Mt Eden area.
