Tai Chi  Qi Gong

Qi Gong is sutable for all fitness levels and at any age

Qi Gong (pronounced chee-gong) means in essence 'energy work', it is a method of cultivating balancing and transforming the bodies vital energy to improve health physically, mentally and spiritually.

Archaeological discoveries have found written evidence that breathing exercises for health were practiced as early as 1100 B.C.E although they may well have been practiced for much longer.

Our bodies have the ability to heal themselves, but often the body does not have enough 'good' energy to do the job well, Qi Gong is a way that you can improve this self healing ability without taking medicine or without any specialized equipment.

Through regular correct practice of Qi Gong the bodies natural healing abilities can be significantly enhanced and with many years of practice the aging processed can be greatly slowed.

Through the correct practice you will learn how to transform negative energy into healthy energy and your body will be able to ward off disease and illness.

Tai Chi was originally a martial art which used the energetic principles of Qi Gong to enhance peoples fighting abilities.

Now Tai Chi is mostly practiced for the same health enhancing abilities as Qi Gong.

If Tai Chi is practiced without the energetic understandings learned through Qi Gong it is nothing more that physical exercise.

There are many classes teaching Tai Chi/Qi gong but not teaching the energetic principles of Qi Gong, this kind of learning will do little to cultivate the bodies energy and may be a no better exercise than walking or riding a bike.

As an acupuncturist I see and treat many people with numerous health problems and would like to be able to teach more people the knowledge to take charge of there own health and well being.

The best way to do this is to teach Tai Chi Qi Gong.

I teach the Yang 24 posture Tai Chi form and self healing Qi Gong.

My journey into martial arts began at the age or 10 when I started training Shaolin kung fu and American kenpo.

I have now practiced martial arts for over 25 years and began studying Tai Chi Qigong 12 years ago.

I have trained in the 3 main styles of Tai Chi, Wu style, Yang style, and Chen style and Qi Gong, as well as holding a New Zealand diploma in medical Qigong.

Casual $20, single class.

Ten classes $150.

All lesson fees to be paid in advance.
